Born in GuangZhou, China, Simon Lok started his early art education from tutorial study when he was 20.He
immigrated into U.S. in 1983.He studied
illustration in Art Center, Cal State Long
been working for Walt Disney feature Animation studio as
a designer since 1993. He has worked on movies like Plane,the Princes and the Frog,Bolt,and Brother Bear,as well as Mulan.He has 7 movie credits. In such a friendly yet competitive environment, He's often
involved in the process of designing
the look of a movie background. He believes that drawing and painting from life is the fundamental skills for animation; Therefore, He always spends time on painting out door .
His growth in animation and outdoor painting comes hand in hand. He applies graphic design principle to his oil painting while his impressionistic experiences helps him depict seasonal changing and the time of a day more vividly. .He combines theatrical knowledge and plein-air skill to capture the beauty of California landscape.
